Royal challengers wanted to provide financial suppport to some of their old cricketers like joshi.It is a nice gesture. They have chosen a test side for this ipl. As Dravid remarked theirs is a veteran side with young cheer leaders. They can still bounce back.Incidentaly I noticed Boucher completely taking over the field placing in the last match.Did u?

This is certainly sad, though I would agree with Q and David, in that T20 gets the newer audiences that Test cricket may not. However, Test cricket lovers will never completely turn to the "hooch" that is T20. For some of us (rare breed), nothing beats a lazy sat/sun afternoon watching Test cricket, not even a World Cup final.

we are already seeing the divide between Test Teams, ODI teams and specialists T20 teams...

the specialists who play Tests will be just cooling the heels while these limited cricket will be on...

so they will doubly make it sure that when they will have the outing its for good :)

It doesn't surprise me that in such a survey, T20 comes out as the most popular. But it doesn't follow that interest in Test cricket is on the decline - a lot of people who never liked cricket before can sit down and watch T20 because it's entertaining and short.

In other words, interest in Test cricket may be steady, it's just that there are all these new fans who only care about T20.

Firstly, cricket makes money from TV rights whether crowds fill the stadiums or not.

If a 20-20 game is on at the same time as a test match, majority of the viewers will watch the 20-20 game.

But if test cricket is on when a 20-20 or an ODI is not on TV, there will b more viewers for that test.

The ICC should be smarter in scheduling in the future.
