Explosive Australia opener David Warner has rated the 2016 Indian Premier League title triumph with Sunrisers Hyderabad as one of the best memories of his profession.

“My IPL favorite reminiscence can be after we gained the IPL in 2016. We had an excellent event the entire method by. The best factor was we gained loads of shut video games which actually constructed nice momentum and nice perception inside the crew.

“It was fantastic. That’s one thing that I will always cherish for the rest of my life. It was a great memory and one of the best,” Warner mentioned in a video message posted by the franchise on its official Twitter deal with.

Warner was the captain when Sunrisers gained their maiden IPL title in 2016, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Opting to bat first, Sunrisers scored a difficult 208 for 7, driving on Warner’s fast 69 and fellow Australian Ben Cutting’s 15-ball 35-run cameo. “We got here up towards Bangalore in Bangalore in the finals, we knew how good they have been. We knew how properly Virat Kohli was going, that 12 months he scored 960 odd runs and was the highest run-scorer. Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers made an excellent nice crew,” Warner mentioned.

“For us it was about backing ourselves, our abilities. We gained the toss and we elected to bat first. Bangalore have been good at chasing however we felt as a crew our best attribute was defending. We had an excellent bowling assault led by Buvi and I felt that was the best method ahead.

“My heart was in my mouth when they were 1 for 145 or so off 10 overs. They were really flying and then we got a couple of quick big wickets and it lifted our spirits,” he recollected.

The 13th version of the IPL has been postponed indefinitely as a result of of the COVID-19 pandemic.
