The BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) will lastly get down to the work of choosing two nationwide selectors at its first assembly in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The three-member CAC, which is meant to choose the selectors as per the BCCI structure, has not had a lot to do since its appointment on January 31.
The committee comprising former India cricketers Madan Lal, R P Singh and Sulakshana Naik might be shortlisting the candidates for private interviews.
Lal, who had earlier instructed PTI that 44 functions have been obtained for two positions, confirmed on Monday that he might be travelling to Mumbai for the assembly.
“Yes, I will be going for the meeting but I don’t know the details yet,” he instructed PTI.
However, a BCCI supply confirmed that the assembly is scheduled to shortlist the candidates. The CAC is wanting for replacements of outgoing choice panel chief MSK Prasad and fellow panel member Gagan Khoda.
Ganguly, who didn’t journey to Dubai for the Asian Cricket Council conferences due to the rising risk of novel coronavirus, is probably going to be current on the BCCI headquarters on Tuesday.
In January, the BCCI boss had mentioned the brand new choice panel will choose the India squad for the house ODIs towards South Africa, starting in Dharamsala on March 12.
“There is still time for the South Africa series. The entire process for picking the new selectors will be done this week,” mentioned a BCCI official.
