“This was one of many hardest selections to make, however I stay absolutely dedicated to supporting Quinton (de Kock), Mark (Boucher) and my teammates as we proceed to rebuild and re-align as a gaggle.

“The final season of my captaincy has been probably the most difficult up to now as I had numerous off-discipline points that I devoted my power in direction of,” he added. 

“I’ve strived to guide the group with dignity and authenticity throughout exhilarating highs and devastating lows. I’ve given my every thing throughout my tenure.

“South African cricket has entered a brand new period. New management, new faces, new challenges and new methods. I stay dedicated to play in all three formats of the sport for now as a participant and can supply my information and time to the brand new leaders of the group.”
