Former India quick bowler Madan Lal on Thursday rejected Shoaib Akhtars proposal of getting a bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan so as to increase funds for the coronavirus pandemic, saying such choices are made by the government solely after taking all of the issues into consideration.

“It’s for the government to decide, not Shoaib Akhtar (decision on bilateral series between India and Pakistan). It depends on government to government. They take all such decisions,” Lal advised IANS.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Akhtar stated India and Pakistan can play both a 3-match ODI or a T20I series behind closed doorways which may increase hundreds of thousands of {dollars} of funds to assist each the international locations in such a determined time.

“I want India and Pakistan to play a series. I want it to happen without crowds, just broadcasting unit should be there and the matches should be televised, three ODIs or T20Is should be played. I cannot understand why this is a bad idea,” Akhtar stated.

However, Lal is not satisfied that the thought can work even slightly bit within the close to future.
