Sangakkara, who is the president of the celebrated Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), feels the state of affairs wants to be monitored.

“Everyday, there are new learnings, new things being found out, so we will have to wait and see, but the options may be to cancel it this year, postpone it to another year, but to have in place anticipatory procedures that take into account health and safety of both the players and the spectators, and make sure that’s iron clad,” he stated.
Sangakkara stated there are a lot of unanswered questions across the pandemic, which has introduced sporting exercise internationally to a grinding halt.
“The actual factor is what’s going to occur with the virus. Is it going to disappear like SARS and MERS, or is this one thing that’s going to come again seasonally?
“Will we have to live with this particular virus or different strains of it from time to time or do we have to live with it long term?” Sangakkara requested on Star Sports present ‘Cricket Connected’.
The former Sri Lanka captain added, “If that’s the case, then among the modifications that we’ve seen in our lives now, stands out as the new regular for us for just a few years till a vaccine is discovered or till there’s sufficient immunity globally among the many individuals to face up to this.
“So, those are really questions that I don’t think anyone can answer at the moment. We will get more clarity as time goes by.”
Sangakkara stated he can think about sitting for a gathering across the ICC desk and attempting to discover solutions to all such questions.
“So, I can think about sitting round a desk for the ICC, attempting to perceive, consulting with specialists to perceive what’s occurring.
“And more so, the questions that a lot of us have in our minds have still not been answered by the top most experts in the world,” he signed off.
