Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof was on Friday dominated out of the continued ICC Women’s T20 World Cup after struggling an injury throughout her group’s 42-run defeat to England in Canberra.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) introduced that Bismah had suffered a fracture in her proper thumb and would require surgical procedure.
“Bismah will have surgery in Sydney after consulting the orthopedic surgeon of Cricket Australia,” the PCB mentioned in a press release.
The board mentioned that senior participant Javaria Khan will lead the group in its remaining two group matches towards South Africa and Thailand.
Bismah’s injury is a giant blow to Pakistan’s probabilities of qualifying for the semi-finals from their group as she can also be the group’s senior-most batter with 108 One-day Internationals and as many T20 International appearances underneath her belt.
She scored an unbeaten 39 in Pakistan’s first spherical win over the West Indies.
The PCB mentioned that Nahida Khan will change Bismah as soon as the technical committee of the match approves the change.
